The NexaTools Base64 Encoder converts plain text into Base64 format and decodes Base64 strings back into readable text, entirely inside your browser. It's a handy utility for developers working with API payloads, data URIs, authentication headers or embedding small files inline.
You can also drag in any file to see its raw Base64 representation, useful for building data: URIs for images or checking how a file looks once encoded.

This Base64 encoder/decoder is built for anyone who needs to convert between plain text/files and Base64. That includes:
Developers preparing data URIs, authentication headers, or API payloads that require Base64 encoding.
Anyone embedding a file like an image or icon directly into HTML or CSS as a data URI.
Students and hobbyists learning how Base64 encoding turns binary data into text-safe characters.
Anyone without dev tools installed who needs to encode or decode text without opening a terminal.
Common Use Cases
Building data URIs. Convert an image or small file to Base64 to embed it directly in HTML or CSS.
Preparing auth headers. Encode credentials or tokens into the Base64 format some APIs require.
Reading encoded values. Decode a Base64 string from a payload or config file to see its actual content.
Learning and teaching. Encode and decode simple examples to see how Base64 represents data.
Common Problems & Troubleshooting
"Invalid Base64" error when decoding. Make sure you're using the Decode button on an actual Base64 string, not on plain text meant for encoding.
Copy button doesn't seem to work. Some browsers block clipboard access until you interact with the page first; click anywhere on the page, then try Copy Result again.
The Swap button did nothing. Swap only moves the current result back into the input box generate a result first by clicking Encode or Decode.
My uploaded file doesn't show a result. Very large files can take a moment to process since everything runs in your browser; wait briefly or try a smaller file.
